Frequently Asked Questions
How will I know if you are the right therapist for me? Can we talk before we make any decisions about sessions?
Successful therapy begins with finding a therapist that enables the client to feel safe, supported, and comfortably guided in doing their work, and is capable of addressing specific client needs. This is why I happily offer and suggest a free 15-minute phone call to potential clients, so that we can get to know each other, and together, we can decide if we’re a good fit for one another. During the call I can address any of your concerns about your presenting issues and starting therapy, and answer any questions you have about me and my process. We can also begin to talk about your specific goals and outcomes you wish to achieve in therapy.

So, let’s talk! You can fill out the client contact form below and you can expect a call from me within 24 hours. You can also call me at 904-501-5134. If I am not available I will reach out within 24 business hours.
Is therapy really for me?
I believe therapy is for anyone who is ready to grow in their life and is willing to take radical responsibility for nurturing their growth. I offer myself as a therapeutic partner; a safe foundation and guidepost for supporting clients and their growth. I too believe that the education, experience, and expertise of a therapist like myself, offers a useful resource for helping individuals understand themselves, their issues, and how to strive for the life they want.
Who do you work with? Is there anyone you don't work with?
I am happy to work with adults and adolescents in individual, couples, and/or family therapy settings. I care about equality, social justice, and human rights, and aim to offer compassion-led services to a diverse population group. I am also interested in hearing what’s important to you, in terms of your individuality, identity, culture, and your ethical and spiritual beliefs.
What is your fee and do you accept insurance?
Individual, couples, and/or family sessions, as well as initial intake sessions are $100. I do not accept insurance. In compliance with the “No Surprises Act” and the Good Faith Estimate, I will never charge for any unlisted fees or services. The standard meeting time for a therapy session is 53-60 minutes, but I am happy to discuss client requests for additional session time. Within Therapy Good Faith Estimate for 2022.
What happens after I contact you and what will be discussed at my first few appointments?
I will receive your contact submission via email and you will receive a response from me within 24 business hours. We will coordinate to schedule a complimentary 15 minute phone consultation to discuss your needs and goals in therapy. If we both determine that I might be the right fit at the end of the consultation we will schedule your first therapy session. I will email you an invitation to the Therapy Notes Client Portal where you will read, complete and sign intake paperwork, which will need to be completed prior to your initial appointment.
How long do appointments last and how often will we meet?
Appointments last between 53-60 minutes. At the beginning of therapy I typically suggest that we meet weekly, and as you begin to meet goals in therapy, we will work together to determine appropriate adjustments to the time between sessions.
Do you provide Telehealth services?
While I am open to including some telehealth sessions with existing clients, in-person sessions are the foundation of my practice and I encourage prospective clients to come sit with me. Additionally, it’s important to note, many issues of the mind manifest in the body. So body language, physical presentation, and physical, trauma-related stress responses, all present as points of information that are critical for the therapist to consider.
What is your cancellation and rescheduling policy?
Your session time is set aside specifically for you upon the time of scheduling. Because of this, I require a 24-hour notice for session cancellations, no-shows, and rescheduling, or you will be charged for the full cost of the session. Please communicate with me in the event of an emergency.
How do I schedule a session if I'm a new or existing client?
For new and prospective clients, please use the contact form at the bottom of this page and I will be in touch within 24 business hours to discuss the scheduling of our complementary 15-minute phone consultation. If it seems like the right fit, we will schedule your first session at the end of the consultation.

For existing clients, we will typically schedule your next session at the end of each attended session. You can access your scheduled sessions and book future sessions using the client portal. You may also contact me directly via phone or email to schedule.
Do you prescribe medication?
No, I am not a psychiatrist or doctor. If you are seeking psychiatric medication, I recommend the following:
-
ask your Primary Care Physician for a referral to a psychiatrist for psychiatric medication. For clients, I am happy to talk to you about having this conversation with your doctor.
-
if insured, contact your insurance company and inquire about your benefits for in-network psychiatric services (may be categorized as a 'specialist' if searching benefits online)
What does it mean that you are a Registered Clinical Social Work Intern (RCSWI)?
Like a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), I have a Master of Social Work (MSW). As a Registered Clinical Social Work Intern (RCSWI) I am qualified to provide therapy services under the supervision of a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) while I continue to gain the necessary experience to become fully-licensed. As an RCSWI, I consult and meet with my Supervisor, Michelle McGlamery (LCSW) weekly. Michelle is a resource and guide, but is not present in sessions with clients. This collaboration and consultation offers fresh perspectives and the opportunity to provide the best care for clients.
